In February that year, Gibbs collaborated with artist King Chip and rap duo The Cool Kids, and formed the supergroup "P.O.C. In 2011, Gibbs was signed to CTE World by Young Jeezy.
Gibbs would continue making music independently, and released his debut extended play Str8 Killa in August 2010. However, the executive who signed him, Joe Weingberger, left the company, and his contract was dropped in late 2006.
During the same year, he signed onto Interscope Records, and begun to work on his debut studio album. In 2004, he debuted his first mixtape, Full Metal Jackit, following it up with a sequel a year later. Gibbs joined onto Finger Roll's No Taming Crew and began his venture into rap. He met producer Finger Roll, who had the only studio in the city. He was honorably discharged eight months in for being caught smoking marijuana.Īt an unknown date, Gibbs began to work in a local mall in his hometown.

Following his first properly distributed release, the Str8 Killa EP (2010), he was named to XXL’s “Freshman Class” and began releasing proper studio albums, including the well-received Madlib collaboration Piñata (2014), Shadow of a Doubt (2015), and You Only Live 2wice (2017). He made a name for himself with a series of self-released mixtapes throughout the 2000s and early 2010s. He’s equally at home rhyming over booming breakbeats or trap beats, and has collaborated with a diverse array of rappers and producers including Young Thug, Rick Ross, Tyler The Creator, Big Sean, Gucci Mane, Jadakiss, ScHoolboy Q, Tory Lanez and others.
